Traditional Screed

Traditional Screeds are installed by our skilled & fully trained teams throughout the UK. Mainly we use ready mixed screeds from a network of trusted suppliers including; Marshalls Premier Mortars, Tarmac Building Products & Cemex.

On projects that are not close to a ready mix screed plant we can offer site mixed screeds, which can be mixed using our own fleet of Forced Action mixers for smaller ground floor areas, or screed pumps for larger and upper floor areas. All our screed products contain fibres, to help reduce cracking associated with shrinkage. Fibres are an ideal substitute for mesh as they are distributed throughout the cross section of the screed, rather than in one location.

Traditional Screeds installed by Heat & Screed can have admixtures which improve the drying rate and strengths of the screed. The use of admixtures can also allow screeds to be installed at reduced thicknesses.

Our specialist screed products offered include but are not limited to;

PCT Chemie – As approved installers for PCT Chemie (Retanol) we can supply & install their products, which offer various rates of drying and strengths;

  • Retanol Xtreme – A Fast Drying, High Early Strength Screed. Another major advantage to this product is that it can be installed at just 35mm in a floating application, so is ideal where there a level issues

  • Retanol EKA BW – Guaranteed drying times of 7/14/21 days, commission UFH after just 24 hours, C35 Strength, can be laid at 35mm in a floating application – an ideal alternative to Flowcrete Fast K Screed

  • Retanol Hydranol – Drying time of 28 days, C30 Strength, can be laid at 35mm in a floating application (55mm with UFH) – an ideal alternative to K Screed

The above are just some of the key benefits of these high quality products. To discuss variables, or for further information please get in touch.

Premierscreed / Truscreed / Tekscreed – These products are our equivalents to Flowcrete K Screed. Wherever possible we use Premierscreed or Truscreed as these are readymixed products, however, we regularly use Tekscreed in locations we cannot get readymixed products. These products all achieve a C30 Strength as a minimum so are ideal for use in commercial buildings such as schools and hospitals. The use of these admixtures reduces the screed drying times to around 25 days for a 75mm screed. These products are all available in HD format where additional compressive strength is required.

Ardex Screeds – Ardex offer some of the best performance screed products on the market. With a range of rapid drying screeds (some can accept floor finishes after 24 hours) Ardex screeds are ideal on fast track projects such as retail units.  Ardex also offer various levelling compounds, all of which Heat & Screed are approved installers of.

Polymer Screeds – Heat & Screed can offer various polymer screeds, which are ideally suited to areas such as beer cellars and bin stores.

All our screeds can be installed as fully bonded, unbonded or floating systems. We can also offer mesh within our screeds if required, such as Orlitech, D49 & A142

Our screeds can be finished using our own Colibri lightweight floats, this system is ideal on larger slabs. Our Colibri UFO floats are designed specifically for screed finishing.

Heat & Screed are BSI Registered and all works are carried out to BS8204.
